Microcontroller based parameter monitoring system

چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to acquire the remote electrical parameters like Voltage, Current and Apparent Power and send these real time values over GSM network using GSM Modem. This facilitates the remote monitoring of these parameters without any geographical constraints, since a GSM module is used. Real time power monitoring system relate generally to the field of electric energy consumption and more specifically to the power meter having embedded intelligence to process current and voltage signals into specific constituent energy consumption for the home appliances in real time. In order to help consumers monitor the energy usage of their electrical appliance, a real time power monitoring system is used to inform consumers about the current/ power consumption of the individual electrical appliance to avoid energy wastage. This project makes use of an onboard computer which is commonly termed as microcontroller. This onboard computer can efficiently communicate with the different sensors being used. The controller is provided with some internal memory to dump some set of assembly instructions into the controller. The functioning of the controller is dependent on these assembly instructions. The controller is programmed using Embedded C language.
